EARLY Donald Carlson Studio Art Glass c. 1971 Iridescent Vase (MUST SEE PICS!)

  

Very early Donald Carlson art glass vase. Circa 1971, only 4 years after he founded his Oregon glass studio. This 8 tall vase features a beautiful gold/blue metallic design over swirls of earthy green shades of glass. It begins with a gorgeous globular base that suddenly tapers into a delicately slender neck, balanced out at the top with Carlson's signature wide flared lip. The photos don't really do it justice, but I tried to capture as best I could, how, depending on the lighting, the look and colors of this piece change dramatically.
