Handmade Studio Art Glass Ivy Vase Dichroic Signed by Ron Desmett 1983

  

This is an amazing piece of art glass! Made by famous glass artist Ron Desmett in 1983. This sphere ivy vase is a beautiful piece of artwork!

Pictures do not do it justice! Dichroic glass makes looking at this a different color from many angles. This vase stands approximately 6.75" tall and 7.765" wide. Opening is 2.25 in diameter. Signed on the bottom Desmett 83.

This does have a tiny flaw, which I believe occurred during the crafting of this piece. Along the inside of the top rim, I can feel a small blemish. It is very difficult to see. I tried showing it in the last picture. Ron Desmett along with his wife Kathleen Mulcahy were partners in creating magnificent glass creations! Ron was an accomplished artist known for his glass creations.

Ron and Kathy were founders of the Pittsburgh Glass Center. Ron passed away December 7, 2016. His work can be found in the Carnegie Museum of Art, the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian American Art Museum, The Cleveland Museum of Art, and the Corning Museum of Glass, as well as several private collections.
